Bag Lady Brinnistool

Chris sent photos of her latest project.  She has now officially become a bag lady.  Apparently she got started accidentally.  She was making pillowcases for her extra large bed pillows, needed for her extra large head, and thought they would also make good bags.  JUST KIDDING!!!  But this is Chris and it IS her head and no digital effects were used I promise.  Er, obviously there are digital effects on me.  My mouth could never be that big!
If you remember, Chris and I went to Central World, where Chris had uncovered a stash of beautiful fabric.  I made a quilt from mine.  After a trip back to the US, Chris' daughter Lisa requested a bag, and if I remember rightly, in very similar fabrics.  Imagine our surprise when we realised that the Central fabrics were an Amy Butler design, the designer of the bag pattern.

So here is the finished bag.  The fabrics go so well together don't they?  They must have been chosen by two very funky ladies (with nothing better to do than spend a couple of hours tearing up a fabric display).  Actually It may have been a good job that Chris left BKK, as she was itching to go back to Central and rearrange the fabric display.
By the way, the bag is called a birdie sling, but she doesn't know why.  It is so obvious Chris, I'm surprised you don't get it.  It is to carry your pet budgie in when you go to the mall, or visiting, out to lunch or on road trips!

The bag used three fabrics, interfacing and fleece interfacing.  I imagine it feels soft, but has a bit of body to it to keep its shape.  Is anyone else now rushing to their stash to see what a bit of fleece interfacing can do for their bodies?!

This is the inside, which as you can see uses a third fabric.  Chris said there is also a larger inner pocket, on the other side too.

Well done Chris.
