Up the Canyon

Saturday after the wedding, we headed up the canyon to our cabin to see the progress. They were still hard at work, but promised all would be completed by Tuesday. Going up through Parley's Canyon we see a lot of bright reds, oranges and yellows. Sadly, there really isn't a good place to pull off the expressway to stop and take pictures. This was taken from the outlet mall in Park City, a favorite place to go shopping. Whoever comes to visit usually gets a visit to the mall as well.

I drove up with Allison so we could stop by Park City (a major ski resort in the winter) and shop at the outlet mall. Roger brought the girls up to join us and between feeding the horses, four-wheeler rides, and earning pennies for finding the odd nail in the drive way (left overs from the construction) the girls had a wonderful time. I took my usual walk around the association, camera in hand, and had a wonderful time myself.

As you can see, the new redwood deck is in and we will be enjoying it for many years to come. These are the aspens that surround our cabin.
Before heading home on Saturday, Roger and I took a drive to the end of Weber Canyon Road. I hadn't been up this far for years and I'm so happy we decided to take a detour today. Absolutely breathtaking! As you can tell at around 7,000 feet, we have mostly pines and aspens. The aspens, however, can turn not only brilliant yellow but orange as well. Against the blue sky of an early October day, well.... it's good to be home.

  1. Honestly, I am just in love with these views. I'm not even going to mention the cabin. How glorious it looks with those yellow trees. A great colour to set the cabin off.
