Uncle Roy

Your post Janice, inspired me to tell you about Uncle Roy.  He, his wife Norma and her sister and husband, had a holiday in the US some years back and loved it.  It turns out that they had been to Cody where Hal's family ranch is (or near), and had been to the museum that Hal's dad was on the board of.

Whist in Cody they went to a rodeo, and to look the part, Roy bought this Stetson from a cowboy outfitters.  The shop man must have been rubbing his hands with glee, telling Roy that he never thought he would sell it.  Well, I guess it takes a big man to wear one of those.  If you are 5'6", you're going to look a bit daft aren't you?

Well he wore it to the rodeo.  Even the rodeo clowns commented on how plucky he was to wear it and told him he had more guts than the bull riders, to which, quick as a flash he replied 'call that a bull?  We have bigger calves back home'.  Yep, he really got into the spirit of it. Oh yes, he did a bit of picking too and ended up with hugely overweight suitcases, and somehow he was able to charm his way out of paying the excess charge.

Oh yes, that isn't his car, though I bet if Norma would let him have one..!  Can't you just see him driving around suburban London in that and his stetson?!
