Roger is off to Detroit tomorrow and since we really haven't had any kind of a vacation yet, we thought we'd take a short road trip, a loop which included an old mining town southwest of us. Eureka came into existence around the l860's with the discovery of gold, silver and other various minerals in the mountains around there.
It was quite a boom town for a few decades before most of the mines eventually failed. From Eureka, we continued the loop from Eureka heading towards Utah Lake and back onto I-15 and home. Once Roger is retired for good, there are plans for a lot of Utah/West/U.S.A road trips. I think a new camera is in my future.

So is Eureka still an inhabited town?
