So we are rolling rapidly down to the last few days of Mary's time in BKK.
Saturday evening we went out as a foursome. The Londoner pub was the first choice, but we had forgotten that being a holiday here, there was no booze! A quick phone call soon solved that and we trotted around to Baz's place, only to find there were no other customers. We spent a fun filled evening, though we managed to get rained on indoors (there was a leak above our table). They did also start strategically switching off the lights around 11ish, so we then had to go home in the rain. We shared a taxi & only then did we remember that we hadn't taken any pictures. So here is one of Mary & Alan in the back of the taxi.
Sunday found Mary and I at the Four Seasons, enjoying their Sunday brunch. wow! What a great time we had. Janice, we missed you (I'm making that funny Mary noise now). We all have to do this together if we manage to get in town at the same time, latter this year.
Mary did her best to eat and drink as much as she could.
In fact she ate and drank so much and with such abandon, the management asked her to slow down and leave some food for the other diners. Mary even attacked my food, grabbing at it like a woman possessed. To be honest, I was a bit ashamed of her.
By the time Mary had demolished the buffet, the only thing left for me, was a bit of dried bread! I did my best with it, but I was so hungry.
The real horror started when she found the desserts. I just never knew Mary could move so fast. I tried to keep track. Crepes, macaroons, panna cota, chocolates, biscotti dipped in a bowl of caramel sauce (she didn't appear to understand that you were supposed to put a SPOONFUL on your ice cream), and mango ice cream. I'm sure I left something out!
Now it may not be visible in the pictures, but Mary was covered with the caramel sauce, which she really tucked into, saying that it was the best bit of the buffet. If only I had known that, We could have bought a bottle from Villa and saved our money! Anyway, she managed to transfer the caramel from her fingers to her napkin, and from her napkin onto her dress. As you know, Mary is always very elegant, and on Sunday she was in her Breakfast at Tiffany's outfit, complete with the cigarette holder, which as mary doesn't smoke, she used as a straw. Anyway, shall we just say that she looked more like Breakfast at McDonalds by the time she had finished the sauce.
Thankfully, Mary finally allowed me to eat a little something. I had to hold my plate close whilst I scoffed my crepe suzette in case she wanted some!
Well Janice, we did manage to keep up the Coven tradition of being practically the last to leave.
Oh, and don't feel left out, we drank a toast to you.
Hic!
