First off this week, I start with a rant. Can you believe how stupid these parents are?
This is on Sukhumvit, outside that plaza where the footbridge joins it, is that Amrin? Anyway, not far from Erawan. For some reason there were some traffic cones along the road. These parents had their small child riding on his bike (which is still on training wheels) on the main road. What drew my attention to it was the car horns that blared as they suddenly had to halt when they realised what was up ahead. Of course the cars behind them would also have to draw up short. Of all places to teach your tiny child to ride a bike!
This photo is at a new Italian place the lads took us to, somewhere off Sathorn soi 1 and some way into the soi. Alan as ever, is intent on getting his meal!
The terrace is one table deep, but not in the middle of the pavement, so people didn't have to negotiate around you with their vendor carts. It is quite a lively area but without the brashness of places like Sukhumvit.
It is a bit difficult to see, but if you look closely, you will see that Craig has a black eye (his left).
Chris & I did the rounds at JJ market. We then took a much needed lunch at the usual place. Janice, I have no idea what the name is! I call it Tenko's after the name I gave the waiter.
We had a really surly girl serve us. First she brought over a bottle of regular coke. I sent that back saying I asked for diet coke. She then appeared with a can of regular. Another staff member stopped her before she opened it. In a complete temper, she grabbed a diet coke from the fridge which she slammed shut so hard, the bottle opener attached to it fell off! She plonked the can in front of Chris and flounced off. Clearly she got up on the wrong side of bed.
As usual we bought loads of stuff. Janice, you have some lovely paper, in your colours, heading home with Roger. I also found that some of the paper stalls sell A4 sized sheets of plain, thin, mulberry type paper.
Finally, do you know this woman? Answers on a postcard please.
