Memories came back and it was a fun afternoon. Besides, it was in an air conditioned venue and more importantly, it was free. I will only go so far for nostalgia!
We are two women (The Coven) who met in Bangkok. We share a love of adventure (in varying degrees), photography (very amateur but who cares?), creating (in different fields), oh yes, and eating (in abundance). Mostly, we just have fun! Now we have moved on to different places, but intend to keep our spirit alive.

Days of 47
Utah history lesson 101 - the biggest holiday in July is NOT the 4th of July - Oh no. It is the 24th of July, the day that the Mormon Pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley in l847.
Every year there is a parade in Salt Lake and while it doesn't rival the Macys' Thanksgiving Day parade or the Rose Bowl Parade, it is the in the top 5 in the country. I remember going to see it in the heat of a July morning every year as I grew up. My Dad loved it!
While the parade wasn't inflicted upon my kids (I had had enough by the time I was an adult and could choose to go or not), the floats can still be fun. So when Allison found out that many of them were on view for a couple of days prior to the parade on the 25th, we rounded up the girls and set out.

Janice, the word CHEAP comes to mind. You went because it was free. You could have at least pretended it was for the children's amusement!
