Klong Toey Market

So, what do you do when you have a free day and are bored? Go to Klong Toey market of course.

This is the Klong that runs through the market. It is full of plastic bags and boxes, as well as the other detritus of life. Interestingly, there is a row of apartments on the far side of the klong, in the market. They have air-con, which denotes a certain level of wealth.
Here are the ladies making the pancake wrappers. I am still amazed that these women work straddling a hot fire and metal pan, yet are not even breaking a sweat.
Now, look at these lovely little fellows. I have to say that whoever decided that kissing a frog may bring about your prince charming, had to be blind!
Now Alan will eat most things as you know, and he is partial to frogs legs, but even he was a bit put off by seeing them like this. He said that he had only ever eaten the legs. Neither of us know what happens to the rest of the body in France. I think the innards were the most disgusting bit.
Now this bit is not the more sensitive amongst us. On closer inspection of these frogs, we realised that they were actually still alive. You could see them breathing or twitching. How truly awful. Ind you, I wish I could wrap my legs around my waist like that!
This was a really big fish. I have no idea what it is, do you?
It looks like something from River Monsters.
Buggies for lunch anyone? I still have no idea why people would eat bugs unless there was no other choice. Of course I also put stuff like shrimps, prawns, mussels etc in the same category. See, that's why I stick to chocolate. It looks good, smells good and by goodness it tastes good! How could it possible be bad for you??!
