Angela was sporting a necktie, which I think she said she made by folding the Union Jack around some wire and sewing it in place, thereby making a rigid scarf. Given the hot sun beating down where she stood, lets hope it didn't heat up the wire and burn her neck!
The Old Reprobate Club! Yes yes I know lads, less of the old!
Alan was called over to this stall and asked to fill in a coupon for the lucky draw. He did so, despite my whispering don't do it, they'll only use it to put you on their mailing list. Just 15 or so minutes later we heard his name being called over the loudspeaker.AND THE WINNER IS..! Yes, Alan won two nights in the Bangkok Pan Pacific hotel!!!
Okay, it's just around the corner from where we live, but after we move, it will be at least two stops away on the train! Seriously, Alan was going to donate it, but I talked him out of that (yes, my bad side won over this time). It is a suite, so I am planning on all weekend in with room service. Lucky us!
When Baz heard the news, he went cross-eyed with envy.
Mark was even more churlish about the win.
Actually, this is Mark doing his Billy Idol impersonation. After a full day of drinking in the sun, we were only too happy that he didn't jump up on stage to start singing his favourite Idol song! Hot in the city perhaps?
Tenderloins & Bistro33 had three stalls set up, so Baz was run off his feet from early morning until late evening, well he was when he wasn't sitting with us or propping up the bar on the beer side!
Angela in full Christmas swing, sporting her Christmas lights.
Angela lighting up Mark's life.
Er..new headgear for attention seekers perhaps?
Amongst the live acts was Alan's favourite Bangkok based band, who play lots of diddly-dee music.
He was less impressed with the Filipino (I think) James Brown impersonator. I thought he was great, but as Alan insinuates, what do I know?!
Lots of hangovers I think today. Craig & Mark had a 5am rush to the airport to catch a flight to China. Yes we have heard from them so they made it as far as China, but getting to their hotel may be a whole other ball game. Alan made a very slow start, but is now chugging away at nearly full steam, Baz is no doubt flying around Bistro and I sit high on my SOBER horse, laughing at all those sore heads around me.
Kim's sober horse was absent on Friday, however. We went to the Christmas wine tasting at the British Club. She had several sips of white wine and later in the evening fell asleep at the table in the Indian Hut!
