The Paraglider

Our son, Daniel (father of three!!) recently completed his certification for paragliding and has taken his first solo and unsupervised flights over the past few days. He originally trained at the "Point of the Mountain" south of Salt Lake where on any given weekend you can find 30-50 paragliders and hang gliders in flight.

Now that he is certified he can find areas closer to home to paraglide and Sunday afternoon we joined him, Grace and the kids to see what it was all about. Basically, you find a cliff, strap yourself in and run off the edge.
Stretch out the glider...
Untangle the ropes....
Strap yourself in....
and take off.
We watched him until he reached the school where he planned to land, caught some updrafts and
circled a few times. Once on the ground Daniel called Grace, who breathed a sigh of relief and
then we were off to pick him up.

Kim, if you are interested we could set up some lessons for you and Alan when you are in town?
