More photos from Sue,
Today we went out for a walk, a real novelty. We were able to go further today as the flood waters had receded. I felt sorry for the bin men who had to clean all the rubbish from the streets, but I'm sure everyone is exteremly grateful to them. I have to hand it to the local population; they are certainly getting on with the clean-up.
We watched as they piled their destroyed belongings in huge heaps at the side of the road.
The upturned toilet leaves much to the imagination, I just hope no one was sitting on it at the time!!!
Ed's note: This gives a whole new meaning to public convenience!
Arun Amarin is still under water, but small cars are able to pass. The fleet of taxi's might then brave the streets of Bangkok; we finally found where they had been hiding!!!
The homeless are starting to return with their meagre possesions. The floods will soon only be a memory as the place comes back to life.
The dirt from the water on the phone box and wall of our soi shows how high the water reached.
I take it the panic is almost over as Sue is wearing bright pink shoes! You wouldn't catch me soiling a lovely bright pink pair of shoes with extra thick, grungy, stinking, soi juice, that's for sure! Maybe my comment on the wellies yesterday got to her!
