Bangkok Shut Down

This was the scene at Asoke this morning at 10am.  Not many protesters around.  It seems to liven up in the evening.

Sukhumvit, from Asoke BTS looking towards Phrom Phom.  Hardly the Red Shirt camp of the past.
I went to have a look at the main stage area at MBK.  I really wasn't too crowded, except at the very front.  Apparently the protesters have gone to march on some of the ministries.
The road that runs alongside MBK (Rama I?).  Anyway, as you can see, I could easily walk down the middle of the road.
Outside Siam Discovery, looking towards Paragon.  This was mostly market stalls selling protest goods and regular things such as clothes.  Inside the malls it is quiet and the supermarkets are the same.  There is plenty of food and water and lots of staff standing around chatting with each other.  Yesterday, Tops Chitlom was much quieter than a regular Monday.  Today in Paragon, you could eat at any food outlet of your choice, they were almost all empty.
I took this picture yesterday from the footbridge that crosses the road between Ploenchit and Chitlom.  Again, not too crowded.
Janice you are right about just recycling old photos from the last demos.  The difference seems to be that the red shirt camps seemed to be really happy smiling places, where as it doesn't seem quite the same mood this time, even though, with all the whistles and hand clappers, there is a festive air.
