Another This and That Post:

As you all know by now, we live in the foothills north of SL overlooking  Antelope Island and the Great Lake.  While I have gotten used to the amazing sunsets we get here (below), one morning I got up to see the moonset, above.  It was a full moon, huge and so amazing hanging over the island that I had to run and get my Coolpix from my purse.  I was able to get a few shots before it vanished behind the island.

My mother was in the hospital for a week or so in September and so we all made our daily trips in to visit with her.  On my way home one evening, I decided to take a different route than normal and drove around the top of City Creek Canyon towards the Capital building (Kim, you and Alan saw this very spot.)  As I was nearing the turnoff, I spotted a few people on the side of the road taking photos across "Memory Grove".  I looked over and saw one of the most beautiful full rainbow ever.  My camera and my skills did not do it justice!!  After standing there for a few minutes, I realized that it really was a double full rainbow with the outer rainbow much lighter, but still there.  A nice end to a crazy day.

The two photos below are from the Sundance Ski Resort (and Sundance Film Festival headquarters) up Provo Canyon.  Roger and I were in Provo doing touch up work on Jason's apartment (now that's a whole other blog!) and instead of driving straight home, we decided to see if the trees had started to turn yet in the canyons.  We followed Provo Canyon to Heber City and on to Park City and home.  A really wonderful afternoon to spend with my guy.  Not only had the trees begun to turn color, but we saw the first snow of the season beginning to set down a base for the ski runs at Sundance.

We are also into the college football season and on occasion have the family over to watch a game.  This game was against our rival Brigham Young University (we won!) and everyone had to come in the appropriate color to cheer.  The kids had a ball, staying up until midnight, and they were still pretty happy when I gathered them together for a photo.  At least Ingrid is looking at the camera.  In the other photos she has turned her head away, so this IS her happy face.

Below is Roger's addition to our Halloween decorations.  I promised myself, and Roger, that I wouldn't add to our decorations this year, but when I returned from lunch with a friend yesterday, this greeted me at the front door!
