The top one was really fun to do. It measures 14 1/2 by 17 inches. I used English paper piecing for the hexagons using left over Japanese fabric from another project I need to quilt (!) and tacked it to a quilt sandwich I machine quilted a grid on. It worked out pretty much as I had hoped. The one on the right is a work in progress, but my thinking is that it will look wonderful on a little girl's twin bed. Now I just have to figure out which little girl. I have a feeling that there will be three more in my future.
We are two women (The Coven) who met in Bangkok. We share a love of adventure (in varying degrees), photography (very amateur but who cares?), creating (in different fields), oh yes, and eating (in abundance). Mostly, we just have fun! Now we have moved on to different places, but intend to keep our spirit alive.

Finally, back to Quilting

I love the top quilt, I can just see that in the entry way room with its Asian feel. I still don't understand the English paper piecing, it just sounds like so much hard work!
ReplyDeleteThe bottom one is so lovely and cheerful, I can see why some little girls may be rummaging through their grandma's stash, looking for favoured fabric! Well done.
By the way, 300 books? Are you crazy? You get THEM to make the books!!!
