While pretty inconspicuous in during the summer, in winter they travel in flocks of 40 or more, incessantly, calling, turning, and twisting in flight and frequently alighting in the same tree. Berries are their main food source in winter.
Yes, I think we called that one right. I ran to get my bigger camera with the telephoto lense, but too late. After about 15 minutes of TEA time, they were off to another location. I found them again just down the street when I ran to take care of some errands. Always good to have a camera at hand.
How very Hitchcock, you certainly wouldn't have caught me in the garden. I would have been too busy boarding up the windows and the chimney and practicing my silent Tippy Hedren scream !!!
