Brighton Ski Resort

From these photos you wouldn't suspect that the ski season is right around the corner, but winter is on it's way.  We have a number of fantastic ski resorts up the canyons from Salt Lake City and Roger's favorite one is Brighton at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Roger had ordered his ski pass for the coming season and needed to pick it up.  Yes, HIS ski pass is correct.  There is no WE in this wintertime activity.  While he is skiing, I am quilting or reading or lunching or any number of other activities which will keep me safely out of the hospital and rehab centers.

We had Livi, our five year old, for the afternoon last week and decided it would be fun to get out of the house and head up to the resort to pick up the pass.  I forget how beautiful it is during the non-ski season.  There is a small lake to the side of the lodge with walkways accessible for strollers, wheel chairs or grandparents strolling with grandchildren.

The day was perfect!  A bit cool to let us know summer was on it's way out and just a hint of oranges and reds along the upper canyon to start welcoming in the change of seasons.

  1. Awe, I love that little girl! By the way, both girls ask EVERYDAY if we can go to your house and see grandma and grandpa :)
