The second part of my US holiday, was doing a road trip with Alan, to Southern Utah.
 Goblin Valley

 Capitol Reef
Grand Staircase Escalante.  This petrol station on Burr Trail road, had clearly seen better days
Grand Staircase Escalante.  Another petrol station past its sell by date, but still retaining a sense of humour!
An unusual piece of art along the roadside.
Bryce, my favourite park, and to quote my cowboy friend, it's so pretty it made me want to gouge my own eyes out.
Bryce.  We hiked down into the rock, what an amazing experience.

We visited this shop where the owner, a bit of a hippy, welcomed us with stories about laying in the back of pick-up trucks and watching the stars whilst listening to the rustle of the breeze through the pine trees.
Roger had told us all about the fake policemen and lo and behold, there was one outside our hotel in Kanab.  Someone had even drawn a hitler moustache on his upper lip!  I know it is supposed to slow down traffic, but we almost ran into a car driving on the wrong side of the road, so that they could take pictures.
The Grand Canyon (north rim), at least I think it is, I had my eyes shut!  Even looking at the man perched on the edge of that rock, makes me feel dizzy.
My favourite view at Grand Canyon, Angels window with its view of the Colorado river.
Kaibob National Forest, where the aspen trees were turning golden yellow.
This was the sight that most intrigued me.  We drove through mile after mile of roadside looking pretty much like this.  These naked, dead trees looked spooky.
