One Last Walk:

Kim and Alan returned from their holiday visiting Southern Utah and the Grand Canyon Thursday evening.  Friday was our last day together and so along with a last minute shopping trip to JoAnn's, we decided to go on one last walk in Utah.  I chose Mueler Park, a wonderful little canyon just about 15 minutes from our home.  I had been there earlier with my mother for a walk and knew the colors were getting close to their peak.

Of course, the walk was slowed by Kim and I taking photos for an ever expanding resource file for confetti quilts.  We both had mistakenly thought we were through with that quilting sideline, but then Kim discovered Aspens and I discovered how the light played through the leaves and well...
I think there are a few more quilts left in us.

Saturday morning came and we had to say our good-byes, which were hard.  We had such a wonderful time, from Moab with Mary, to shopping, to eating, to dyeing, to critiquing walks through my neighborhood (I thought I was bad!) to.... well you name it.  Sad to see them go.  Then I walked downstairs to straighten their room and look what I found waiting for me.....

the "gift" that keeps on "giving"!!!!!  This Rabbit from Bangkok originally belonged to Chris Brinninstool and has found it's way into people's refrigerators, quilt rooms and now I guess it belongs to me (Thanks, Kim!).  I know that it is lonesome for it's original owner, so Chris, it's back in the States now and it just might end up on your front porch one day!

  1. So fun! We had a great time too. The girls will miss "grandma's friends".

  2. That park was yet another beautiful spot, right on your doorstep, and we got to see those wonderful fall colours.

As for the rabbit... She who laughs last and all that! Er, the original giver of this gift doesn't read the blog by any chance?! Anyway, all I care about is that it is out of my quiltroom and hopefully never to be seen again. Well by me anyway!
