Natural History Museum

For Christmas this year, Roger and I gave ourselves a family pass to the new Natural History Museum at the University of Utah. We and about half of Salt Lake decided to visit it during the Christmas break. We drove about the inversion (though I am sure we were still in it) and enjoyed a few hours with the kids who could make it and, most importantly, the grand kids.
It's a great museum showing the natural history of Utah and the surrounding areas, taking us through prehistoric times with dinosaurs and the like up through the numerous Indian tribes who have lived here through the centuries. The grand kids saw fossils from the lake beds, discovered how rivers are formed. and learned about the importance of ecosystems. The hands-on activities kept everybody happy for the two hours spent there.
They explored with magnifying glasses:
Microscopes:
Had a lot of fun following the ants around their farm:
Played "I spy" with Grandpa:
And got the magnets right where they belonged.
As activities and displays change, I think we will be visiting the museum often during the year.
