First of all, I would like to thank Roger for holding the quilts. You notice his feet below all three of them. Good to have a dedicated assistant! I haven't shown any quilts lately, but that does not mean I haven't been busy in my quilt cave (basement bedroom) all winter. I have a number of tops not quilted as of yet, but these three were needed for my quilt group coming up the lst Thursday of June.
The class I'm teaching that night is about half square triangles, how to make and how to use them. It's a pretty simple and basic subject, but after numerous hours blog stalking and internet hunting, I have scientifically determined that you could make a half square triangle quilt every month for the rest of your life and never duplicate the pattern!!!!! Scientifically!!!!!
Making these quilts have been fun and have also given me the opportunity to practice my machine quilting skills. Below are rows and rows of feathering, something else that you could add to your quilts forever and ever! Fun to do, but one day soon I have to stop saying I'm practicing and actually accept credit or failure for the work I do. Maybe the next one.
As usual some really lovely quilts. I have to say that my favourite by far is that lovely quilt, second down. I think the colours are so refreshing. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why you are knocking yourself over your feathers, they certainly look good to me. Maybe your next challenge is t try the more fancy feathers. I didn't know just how fancy they could be until recently.
By the way, can you advise your quilt stand that he should shave his legs and paint his toe nails before appearing on the blog!
Well done!
