What I Did on Memorial Day:

What happens when you combine five, age eight and under, grandchildren with an adult sized croquet set and minimal instructions?  Oh, yes, and add a playing field that practically looks over the edge.  You get a great evening of entertainment!

They had actually played one other time, so they came to this tournament (?) with a bit more skill,
enthusiasm, and a repaired mallet.  (Ethan got a bit too enthusiastic the first time around).  Their main goal and focus (except for Livi who ran off to jump on the trampoline between turns) was to achieve the title of "poison" so they could chase each other around the course and "kill" each other off.

You know it was a successful evening when kids left with no injuries but crying nevertheless because they wanted to play another game.

We did get smart and bought a child's sized croquet set for the next get-together.  Next summer - Badminton!
