Spring has come to the Salt Lake valley and we have already experienced temperatures reaching the low 70's. With this in mind, we thought we should get up to the cabin one last time while we could ride the snow mobile in. Otherwise it would be walking until the gate opened and we could actually drive up to the cabin.
We got there around 3:00 in the afternoon and decided the weather was too
nice to sit in front of the fireplace. We needed to take one last snowmobile
ride around the association before the melting started in earnest.
Spring snow is tricky. It is soft and slushy as it starts to melt during the day, and freezes again during the night. We didn't even make it down the driveway before we slid off the drive and settling next to an aspen. Roger quickly (and patiently) explained that it was my fault we were stuck as I had leaned in the wrong way when we started to slid. I didn't buy that for a minute!!!! But since it was Roger who who dug us out, I let him have his moment.
We finally got off and it was glorious!!!! Nothing better than a snowmobile ride when the temps are in the low 60's. Roger asked if I wanted to drive, but considering what happened in the slushy snow on the driveway, I wasn't about to take any chances and declined his offer.
Kim, here is your barn. The one you used in your recent quilt project. Looks as bit different surrounded by snow.
Heading back to the cabin.
While I'm happy (let's say delighted) for the Spring, I will miss winter at the cabin. Until next year!
I wish I was there, that looks like such fun and I would NEVER lean the wrong way!
ReplyDeleteThe cabin looks great with the snow.
