Bangkok Monsoon

Emporium now has a lovely new upper entrance, but they have yet to finish the covered path to the BTS.  With the heavy rain yesterday, the poor guards were kept busy ferrying shoppers under large umbrellas to the train.

Meanwhile at Central Embassy, despite having been open less than a year, it was all hands to the mops!  Rain ran steadily along the interior windows on every floor that I visited.  Hum, someone didn't get their calculations right.
I don't think the rooftop drainage could cope with the seasonal Bangkok deluge.  To be fair, it was heavy, but then there are always heavy rains here.
Once the rain had eased, Bangkok showed its usual ability to just get on with it.  Plastic bags on heads and shoes in hand people made their way to the BTS.  I watched men take off their shoes and ring out their socks.  At least I wasn't the only one to get caught out!
Wireless Road struggled with all the rain
As did the vendors
The top of a tree in the electricity wires outside Cabbages and Condoms and fallen ones further along the soi, kept the electricity off all afternoon.
I hope this isn't a foretaste of things to come.
