We've been updating the cabin a bit; new deck outside, new paint, satellite TV, and some new furniture, below. inside. With all of the improvements, it is feeling more and more like home, so I decided that a more permanent sewing space was in order as well. I commandeered the loft area off the upstairs bedroom and planted my sewing machine on the small table we have there. I still need to bring up a standing lamp and another table for ironing and cutting and I am good to go. Get a fire going in the great room below and I can settle in for some long winter days.
Driving up to the cabin through Parley's canyon the first color was spotted a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful reds and oranges. My favorite time of the year is fall with all of the colors and, of course, two of my favorite holidays to decorate for: Halloween and Thanksgiving. Just think pumpkins, colored
leaves, and all things spooky.
The following week we decided to go on a short day rip to see the fall colors. We headed south on I-15 driving to Nephi and then followed the Mt. Nebo loop back north to Payson and home. We did see some amazing color, but what really was a happy and unexpected surprise was "Devil's Kitchen", which boasted a landscape similar to Bryce Canyon in Southern Utah.
The cabin is looking great. I think the sewing spot though is what is swinging it for you!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, that picture looks like Bryce. How amazing it would be to see that with snow. Lucky you (and lucky me too soon!).
