We held our second annual Tea family reunion (even though we see each other plenty throughout the year) at the cabin last weekend. Everyone was able to come and relax, though the grandkids kept grandpa busy with requests (demands) for rides on the four wheeler at every turn. Now you might think we had lived in Thailand too long given the above photo, but no, that was just for a photo op. Only two besides Grandpa and each with their helmet were the rules. All of them were anxious to show off their skill at driving unaided down the dirt road. Thank goodness Roger has good reflexes!!
Best friends.
After dinner everyone walked down to feed the horses. Three bags of carrots went quickly.
Nine decided they would brave the bears (not really) and sleep on the deck. I took this photo early in the morning when I got up to make a pancake breakfast before heading up to the lake. I'm not sure who got the better sleep, but having a queen sized bed and TV all to myself, was a great way to go.
Smith-Moorehouse is just up the road from our cabin and we have found that early in the morning, before the winds pick up, is the best time to get the canoe and various kayaks out on the lake. Kim, remember how smoky it was last year when I took you and Mary up to the lake? As hot as it has been around here this year, we haven't had the amount of fires we did last year, something to be truly grateful for. As you can see, the day was clear with beautiful blue skies.
Three of my girls.
I even got out for a few minutes.
Roger and Jason kept a good watch over Ana as she practiced her rowing skills in the Kayak.
Jason, showing off his ability to roll in a kayak. And he's up!
A great weekend and everyone was able to found a favorite spot to relax in the shade.
lots of fun and great pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteHow d o I qualify to go to this retreat, it looks such fun!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, is someone trying to feed Pokey to the horse in that photo?
You are right about the clarity, my photos look as though there is a strong haze in the background. Darn, my photos are obviusly spoilt. I'll just have to go back and visit you again!
